Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is popularly known as, was an American-born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band was not able to make a significant impact on the scene in The United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford's solo metal career had a great success following the group break-up. Her debut album as a solo artist was called 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Both the albums did not receive much success and Ford was largely absent from the world of rock for a couple of years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in the year 1989. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her most popular hit songs. Her success was unfortunately brief and after a couple of more years, she disappeared. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards it was back in the spotlight. Her latest album was released Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
