Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day, is a American R&B/Soul songwriter and singer. She's been awarded a Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Golden Globe Award as well as Academy Award nominations are also some of her awards. Andra Day, an accomplished singer-songwriter with roots in blues, gospel and gospel that has a passion for the contemporary world, is more than an R&B throwback master. The ability she has to mix the influences of jazz, gospel and the blues into the R&B genre is impressive. Growing up within San Diego and surrounding areas her first performance was in the church and was enrolled into at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. When she left the School of Performing and Creative Arts, Day started to concentrate on modern R&B and Pop, however she quickly discovered that her roots in soulful jazz were the ones she was attracted to. Kai Millard Morris recorded a concert of Day in the following year, then later gifted her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's material. Motown legend Adrian Gurvitz then introduced Day to music industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Day joined forces with Gurvitz's Buskin label and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, built a following on YouTube before signing to Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut song Forever Mine. It was picked up and played on the radio by numerous DJs. Following her signing with Warner Bros. Records, she began working alongside producer Adrian Gurvitz to create her debut album "Cheers to the Fall" (2015). The album included the single Rise Up that became an song for the social justice movement across the globe. Day received 2 Grammy nominations for her album, including Best R&B Album. In the year 2019, she released her sophomore album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album that tells the story of the legendary jazz singer. In addition, she was a part of The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a film about Holiday. Andi Matichak, a American actress. Her first appearance on television was in, appearing on shows like Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods. She then began her film debut by appearing in Halloween as well as its sequels as Allyson. Andi Matichak, an American actress, was born in Framingham in Massachusetts on the 3rd of May 1994.
